I played football, wrestling, baseball, and basketball as a kid. I helped coach a youth football team that achieved great success. I love all sports, but truly fell in love with football. As I grew older, my love for training grew stronger than my passion for playing the sport, and I knew I could help kids who are less fortunate than others. It's my goal to help kids reach their true potential on the field but also in life.
I think many youth athletes have an internal battle with their minds. It's one of the hardest things to conquer and use to your advantage. When I was younger, I struggled greatly with self-talk, which affected my play on the field and even everyday life. If I made a bad play, it would get to me, and I would end up making more mistakes because that was all that I focused on, rather than looking at it as an opportunity to improve. Eventually, I was able to learn positive self-talk talk which affected the way I played in a drastic way. It's not just something that can be used in sports; it's something that helps tremendously in life. When stuff doesn't go your way, you have to keep a positive attitude and decide to shape your reality.
My purpose for coaching is to help athletes reach their greatest potential in sports and their lives. I'm here to make sure they get the training they deserve, but also to help build them up and give them confidence in their abilities.
